An entertaining side story to The Shadow Demon Saga.SHORT SUMMARY: At midnight of each full moon, Allison must take a potion to hide her true identity to hide from the Order of Shadows. The Order of Shadows put a tattoo tracker on her and the potion hides it's affects. Her college "friend" drops the potion 3 hours before she must take it and she must try to find another before time is up. She goes back to a voodoo shop to get more, but there is no more. So she meets up with a demon named John as she goes on a wild adventure to find another cure to hide her tracker.

I give this 4 starts instead of 5 for the only reason of I WANT MORE. I hate a book ending with questions. Allison is a girl on the run so to say from The Order. I love this story. I need more. I would like a bit more of an explanation of WHO in The Order are searching. I haven't seen that there is any plan for more on Allison and John and that can be a problem as this book will draw you in and leave you sad that there is not a next book to read. Love The Peachville Demons Books.
I loved this bonus novella in the Shadow Demons Saga! Allison and John are just so cute. I would love to see them show up again in the main series, and really hope that they do! If you've read the first six Shadow Demons books, this will feel like a wonderful extra little treat, but even if you haven't read any of the other books, I think this little story can stand by itself. It will probably whet your appetite for the rest of the series, though, which isn't a bad thing ).
I never get this excited over books honestly and I never really read that often but I never EVER miss one of Sara's books the shadow demon series was like sooooo good!!' Then the sacrifice me series was like great especially when I found out it was a connection with shadow demons .... But the new after midnight is just to good to be true right now!!! I can't wait to see what's next to come!!! I love how the witches always seem to fall in love with a demon !!! Everything Sara cannon writes is a must buy !!!!!!!!
This book is fantastic! It was wonderful to visit the world of the Peachville Demons again, and this time the setting is New Orleans...it just doesn't get much better than that! I was immediately drawn in and couldn't put it down...I only wish this book had been longer...I knew it was a short story going in, but I just could not stop reading...it really is that good. I hope the author (who has quickly become one of my favorites) will consider a spinoff series based on this book...I want to know more about them (especially John!) and their plans to stop the Order. Read this book (and the Peachville series)...you won't be disappointed!
Love the story! I am a bit sad it's just a novele...has potential for another "sister" series in the shadow world. Felt like I get a peak at only 2 days out of a long interesting life of those charecters...and there is sooo much hints to more interesting info of that world andpotential fun and mystery worth exploring. I recomand reading it only after reading the 1st 7 books in the Shadow World (about Harper and friends)... just gives you a fuller understanding of the background and lets you see all the hints andappreciate the hidden little glimps of new things about that story world.
5 star worthy! I loved every minute of it! Had tension, mystery, magic, adventure, dark forces nipping on their heels, romance with a dark stranger who definitely had quite a few secrets to him (John Pierce is an excellent book boyfriend! Yum!), and in a wonderfully rich setting like New Orleans, dragging us to the rich palatial houses, and into the mausoleum-filled cemeteries, as well as Bourbon Street with scantily clad tourists, and the Voodoo shops. Not to mention that I’m already a fan of the Peachville Demons series, so I loved that it hooked right into it, but gave us new fresh characters fitting into the world Sara Cannon had already created. And I’m dying to know what happens to them next.
This was a great vignette that answered the question of “Where’s Allison?” from the main arc. And I honestly wished this one kept going, because the dynamic with between these two is as awesome as Franki and Rend, though very different. The mark of an excellent author is one who tells a story well but still makes you want more, and Sarra has done that here and, really, across the entire Peachville High/Shadow Demons plot.
I also appreciate how she manages romance without too much mature content. These are stories I could actually let a high schooler read and not cringe. Bravo!
